Academy On Stage

ACADEMY ON STAGE PRESENTS: JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN!

Academy On Stage is a pre-professional program for high school students with a passion for theatre. During this four-week hands-on experience, students will be cast as actors or selected for production crew to bring the full-scale production to the stage. The program will include a rehearsal process, tech week, performances, and strike. Curated and led by theatre industry professionals, this fast-paced experience requires students to be adaptable, focused, and ready to work (and play)!

Academy On Stage seeks 25 students interested in extending their education in the performing arts. This summer’s production requires 18 actors, 5 run crew members, and 2 assistant stage managers. Academy On Stage is open to all students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grade in the fall of 2025 as well as students scheduled to graduate this Spring.

Participants must be able to attend all rehearsals and performances in-person at the Middlesex Lodge (404 Concord St. Framingham, MA) and tech week and performances at The Calderwood Pavilion (527 Tremont St. Boston, MA)

Hear from our Education Program Alums:

“My mentors and peers would constantly push me to continuously grow as an actress and I was taught valuable skills that I still use in my acting career today. This was one of my favorite experiences by far and I will always be super grateful to the Huntington for supporting me through the whole process and keeping in contact to support to this day.” – Seine Young, The Huntington Education Program Alum

“Learning that a monologue is performed is much more than just a monologue. It is a person telling a story and it is vital to understand why each word is said, each phrase, and each detail which I was not familiar with before, so I was so glad to have learned that from the wonderful teachers.”  –Wonbeaker David, The Huntington Education Program Alum
