BPS Theatre Arts Residency Program
The School Residency program offers schools the opportunity to connect with The Huntingtonâs Education Department during the regular school day. Huntington Teaching Artists visit classrooms for a designated amount of time with the goal of sharing the world of theater with students and their teachers. They aim to focus on the work and lives of prolific playwrights. Each year, a robust roster of Boston Public Schools and schools in the Greater Boston Area partner with Huntington Teaching Artists to teach and support students as they rehearse monologues written by todayâs leading contemporary Black writers.
For more information on School Residencies and to submit a request for rates, please email Director of Education Meg OâBrien at mobrien@huntingtontheatre.org.
âThrough this process, I learned how to connect more deeply with a character’s emotions and motivations. It helped me grow as a performer by challenging me to bring authenticity to the stage and refine my memorization and delivery skills.â
